Meet The Chef
Hi my name is Chef Julie and for years I have had such a passion for cooking. If I had to create a coat of arms at least one quadrant would have to be devoted to food. My love of food preparation goes way beyond feeding my stomach. Maybe it’s the challenge of putting together the colors, the textures and the flavors.. I was lucky that I grew up in a family that enjoyed good food and I had a mom that just let me cook away and make messes. For me, putting on a big pot of stew, and stirring and smelling the contents for an hour or so, is very soothing.
I believe that cooking is not only a skill but also an attitude. I believe that if you can’t find time to add a ‘little bit of love” to your cooking, you need to order a pizza: don’t cook!…. Nothing tastes worse than a meal that’s been slapped together by someone who didn’t want to cook in the first place.
I love to cook all kinds of food and I enjoy food challenges. When I cook, I prepare my meals with high quality ingredients and like to use interesting combinations of spices.
I have been teaching the love and art of cooking and nutrition for over 30 years and have taught over 9000 students. I have had years of culinary training and education and hold a Masters degree in Education with further training from Seattle Arts Institute and San Antonio Culinary School.
